The weather has stayed cool and this morning Tug's little paws were pretty cold when he took a flying leap into my lap. (At least his nails had gotten clipped...)
We're going to measure him and get him cold weather gear. :) We're thinking a horse-style blanket may work since he doesn't like anything going over his head. Those kinds just drape over the back and sides and attach around the front and under the belly to keep them on. Still, he's not real thrilled even being rubbed off with a towel after a bath. He doesn't mind the bath- just the towel. I'm a bit worried he will go nuts with a coat on but Bostons' aren't supposed to do well in cold weather and we get a lot of wind. He and Mama are getting more walks in due to the cooler temperatures. Makes me sad since so much of the year is too warm here- for Mama, not just Tug. Poor little guy.

Weather report
Tug's first cool day! It's windy (post Wilma- we didn't get hit) and he's out on the back porch sniffing til his little smushed nose is going to fall off! We've finally hit some fall type weather and he's liking it very much. The different wind speed brings in odors he's not used to and he's enjoying himself.
All we got from the hurricane was high winds and some thunder last night. Tug's not crazy about thunder and lightning but he did pretty well. Mama wants to take him on a walk later since the winds should die down but earlier the gusts were so bad she had to really push to get the front door closed when she went outside. If they went out now we'd have a Tug kite!

Tug's Famous Cousin
Tug's cousin is a feline named Pumpkin my aunt rescued from a shelter. The ASPCA has named Pumpkin Cat of the Year since she's such a great nanny-cat to my cousin Will. We're all very proud of her and she's getting some national media exposure this week. Tug isn't even jealous! :)
P.S. See that cute photo of Tug below- where he's wearing his Halloween bandana (for about 30 seconds)? Look carefully in the top right corner. Yeah, that's my hand holding a treat. Told you he's a treat slut who'll do anything...

Our Boston Terrier
Tug has fully recovered from his outpatient surgery and is back to playing normally. (whew)
Mama was tired and wanted to rest so she kicked back in the recliner. Tug was nearby on the floor and, by peeking through mostly closed eyes, Mama watched him to see if he'd behave well. Tug kept looking at her and seemed a little puzzled. He moved around a bit without going out of her sight. Then, he finally just gave up and laid down to wait on her to "wake" up. What a sweet boy!
Sometimes, when he's tired but doesn't want to admit it (like most toddlers) she puts him in his crate and then lies down on her bed where he can see her. He just watches awhile to see if she's going to get back up and then just sighs and stretches out. He doesn't bark in his crate if someone's in the room even when he wants out. He just prances in places and snuffles and breathes loudly until he gets attention. If we're not in the room and he wants out- bark central!

Our Boston Terrier
Neutering accomplished. Recovering nicely (Tug, too- Mama was the one who was really worried...)
