in loving memory of some four-legged friends

April: Vega, a co-worker's Golden Retriever service dog of over 5 years (trained by Canine Companions) had to be to sleep as he became ill.

May: Taz, a co-worker's shepard who was 12, had to be put to sleep as he became ill.

June: Ben, a co-worker's Rottie who is also older, is to be put to sleep this coming weekend because he's been ill for awhile.

Tug and Vega had actually met once last year. Without Vega's presence at work for so many years I'm not certain I would've supported Mama's decision to get a dog as I've always been a cat person. Vega was a quiet, patient soul who really made even non-animal people admire him over time.

When Tuggums was ill this past February, Mama and I wouldn't look at each other but one of us would say "what would we do if we lost the boy."
